WHAT ARE STANDARD YOGA MATS MADE OF?
WARNING: Standard yoga mats are commonly made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC), a plastic that releases chemicals into the environment during both production and use. When heated during yoga practice, PVC mats emit harmful chemicals — known human carcinogens when exposed through inhalation and contact. Conventional yoga mats are not biodegradable and can take hundreds of years to decompose.

Each mat is handwoven by master weavers, and quilted for softness and durability.
Ayurvedic Editions embody the principles of Ayurveda — the properties of the plants used in the natural dye are absorbed by the skin. Indigo, Turmeric, and Marigold editions each offer a unique set of properties that contribute to human health.
Quilted for softness and durability, easy to wash and delightful to use, our handcrafted mats can fit over your existing mat, held in place with fabric flaps on the underside to prevent slipping.
Use the mat on its own (as traditional yogis do), take a nap on it, take it to the beach, or anywhere you need an extra layer between you and the world.
